When you think of New York, you think, of course, of the amazing attractions of fabulous New York City. And though those are many, let’s take a look at some of the many other fantastic attractions that New York State has to offer..

Mountains and beaches. From the spectacular Adirondack Mountains to the Catskills Mountains, great beauty along with all the outdoor sports in the mountains await you. There are also, in these regions, charming inns, farms, cabins, and ranches for special lodging for your special vacation.. There is also the Allegany State Park, full of all the same enticing sports activities. On Long Island are beautiful beaches and lovely homes in the Hampton beaches area to see, also famous gardens and estates, such as Planting Field, as well as charming villages such as Cold Spring Harbor.

On Thousand Islands, there is the famous Boldt Castle with its beautiful grounds. And the exquisite Hudson River and Valley, with its beautiful and historic homes, inspired an entire school of artists and painting. Famous Saratoga Battlefield, and of course the inimitable Niagara Falls, known world wide, are just a few of the sights you will want to see.

State and National Parks, some allowing camping, are abundant and offer the outdoor life, as well as some historical education. The Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site, as well as the Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, are two such fine examples. And there are many more. Visit your state and national state park websites for New York for further detailed information.

In addition to all these activities, professional sports can be enjoyed throughout the state, from the Buffalo Bills (NFL) in Buffalo to the MetroStars (MLS), to the New York Dragons (AFL) on Long Island. Not to mention the many teams in New York City itself: The New York Knicks (NBA), The New York Giants (NFL) and The New York Yankees (MLB), to name but a few.

Now if you still need things to do, there is the gleaming Great White Way of New York City, full of some of the greatest theater, dance, music and museums in the world, as well as historical tours around this island, trips to the Statue of Liberty and just visiting the many exciting stores and ethnic neighborhoods which make New York New York, one of the most exciting cities in the world.

But don’t try to see everything, unless you live there, and even that is a challenge. And the tourist slogan I Love New York is not just s slogan. You will, too.
